Description
You are invited to a special community update meeting hosted by the Orangevale Chamber of Commerce and the GLOVE (Greenback Lane OrangeVale Envision) Committee — volunteer community leaders who have been working for over a decade to improve our commercial corridors and make Orangevale a thriving destination.
GLOVE Community Update Meeting
Thursday, April 30, 2026 | 1:00 – 2:30 PM Orangevale Library Community Room, 8820 Greenback Lane
This meeting will cover two exciting updates:
1. Greenback Lane Streetscape Improvement Project Update
Steve White from Sacramento County Department of Transportation will provide the latest update on the Greenback Lane Streetscape Improvement Project. This long-awaited project will bring new sidewalks, medians, landscaping, and beautification improvements to the Greenback Lane corridor from Chestnut Street to the Folsom city limit.
Thanks to years of community advocacy, $6.15 million in SACOG funding was secured in 2021, and we are now actively pursuing an additional $9.7 million in federal funding through SACOG's Regional Funding Round later this year. Construction is targeted for 2028. Your presence and show of community support matters.
2. Introduction to the Orangevale PBID (Property & Business Improvement District)
Chris Evans will present information about the concept of forming an Orangevale Property & Business Improvement District (PBID) — a voluntary, owner-led organization that could fund shared investments in cleanliness, safety, marketing, and community improvements along our commercial corridors.
Similar districts have been successfully established in nearby communities including Antelope and Carmichael. This is an informational presentation, and no commitments are required.
Why This Meeting Matters
The upcoming SACOG funding application represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to complete the transformation of Greenback Lane. Community voices and demonstrated local support play a meaningful role in the success of that application.
Showing up on April 30th is one of the most direct ways you can help bring this project across the finish line.
